Deuteronomy 9:18

18Then I alay prostrate before the Lord bas before, forty days and forty nights. I neither ate bread nor drank water, because of all the sin that you had committed, cin doing what was evil in the sight of the Lord to provoke him to anger.

2 Samuel 12:16-20

16David therefore sought God on behalf of the child. And David dfasted and went in eand lay all night on the ground. 17And the elders of his house stood beside him, to raise him from the ground, but he would not, nor did he eat food with them. 18On the seventh day the child died. And the servants of David were afraid to tell him that the child was dead, for they said, “Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spoke to him, and he did not listen to us. How then can we say to him the child is dead? He may do himself some harm.” 19But when David saw that his servants were whispering together, David understood that the child was dead. And David said to his servants, “Is the child dead?” They said, “He is dead.” 20Then David arose from the earth fand washed and anointed himself and changed his clothes. And he went into the house of the Lord gand worshiped. He then went to his own house. And when he asked, they set food before him, and he ate.

2 Chronicles 7:3

3When all the people of Israel saw the fire come down and the glory of the Lord on the temple, they bowed down with their faces to the ground on the pavement and worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord, saying, “For he is good, hfor his steadfast love endures forever.”

Matthew 26:39

39And going a little farther he fell on his face iand prayed, saying, My Father, if it be possible, let jthis cup pass from me; knevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.”
